Who We Are

Pace School is the first organization in the nation to be accredited as a Sanctuary® by the Sanctuary® Leadership Development Institute a world leader in the field of trauma focused care. The Sanctuary model of organizational change creates a safe environment where emotional and psychological healing can occur.

Pace School is a placement option for school districts in Allegheny and surrounding counties and serves students, grades K - 9, with emotional challenges or autism.

Located in the Churchill Borough, just east of Pittsburgh, Pace School looks like a regular elementary or middle school to the typical visitor. It is the unique blend of special education and mental health services-and the added supports within each system-that sets Pace School apart.

As a private, nonprofit day school, Pace serves hard-to-teach, hard-to-reach children and adolescents.

Pace School teaches children to break through
social and emotional barriers
to school success.
