History

In June 1967, a small group of dedicated parents and professionals planted the seeds of a new school.  Opening with just 26 students in rented space in a McKeesport church, the school provided a caring environment with individualized instruction where children advanced at their own “pace.”

From those seeds, Pace School has grown into a state licensed Approved Private School and Partial Hospitalization Program serving more than 140 children each year from school districts through Allegheny and surrounding counties. To expand the reach of its mission, Pace opened Pace Learning Center, a private academic elementary and special education school in Butler County from 2008 to 2016 and also operates special needs classrooms/consultation in public school settings.

Nurtured by the expertise of dedicated teachers, behavioral health staff and parents, thousands of young people over the years have overcome educational and behavioral challenges to create successful and meaningful lives.

Regardless of the challenge or diagnosis, Pace finds a way to provide each child the opportunity to thrive.

And they do…
