Pace Approved Private School in Pittsburgh:
Pace School is a placement option for school districts in Allegheny and surrounding counties that serves kids, K-9, with emotional challenges or Autism.
Licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the State Board of Private Academic Schools, Pace School is one of 34 Approved Private Schools (APS) in Pennsylvania. APS special education programs were established by statute in 1971 to serve children with the most severe disabilities.
Pace School is licensed to serve students educationally diagnosed in one of three areas:
- Emotional disturbance
- Pervasive developmental delay
Each student at Pace also has at least one mental health diagnoses and is enrolled in Pace’s School Based Partial Hospitalization Program. The Partial Hospitalization Program is licensed by the Department of Public Welfare and provides intensive psychiatric services to children and families.
Pace – The Learning Center in Butler County:
Pace’s Learning Center is a private academic school option for school districts and families of students grades K-6 who are struggling in their current school placement. This Elementary and Special Education program provides individualized education and behavioral interventions for students with Autism and other developmental or behavioral challenges in a small setting located in Southern Butler County.
Pace Autism Support Classroom
Located in the Moon Area School District, Pace operates an intensive classroom for Elementary students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. The classroom, located within the Brooks Elementary School provides a local alternative to children who require intensive supports that might otherwise require placement outside the school district.
Pace – Extended School Year
Pace offers a unique alternative to traditional ESY programming at our Pittsburgh Campus for students with emotional disturbance and Autism. Integrating behavioral treatment into the daily academic schedule, Pace provides a comprehensive educational program that includes creative arts, project based learning and group social skills instruction. Partial Hospitalization services are available for students already enrolled at Pace.
Training and Consultation
Pace shares our expertise as a critical component to our mission of helping any child to thrive. We offer training programs each year on a variety of topics and to many audiences. We also offer consultation to schools throughout the region.
