Our School

Pace School is the first organization in the nation to be accredited as a Sanctuary® by the Sanctuary® Leadership Development Institute a world leader in the field of trauma focused care. The Sanctuary model of organizational change creates a safe environment where emotional and psychological healing can occur.

Pace School is a placement option for school districts in Allegheny and surrounding counties that serves kids, K-9, with emotional challenges or Autism.

Licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the State Board of Private Academic Schools, Pace School is one of 34 Approved Private Schools (APS) in Pennsylvania.  APS special education programs were established by statute in 1961 to serve children with the most severe disabilities.

Pace School is licensed to serve students educationally diagnosed in one of three areas:

  • Emotional disturbance
  • Autism
  • Pervasive developmental delay

Each student at Pace School also has one to four mental health diagnoses.

Pace School programs marry academics with daily exposure to therapeutic interventions to increase the likelihood that the child or youth's skills and strengths can be the source of his/her growth.
