M. Joanne Dixon, Ph.D., Director of Clinical Services
As the Director of Clinical Services for Pace School, Dr. Dixon provides the leadership for the design, development and delivery of the therapeutic services provided within the Partial Hospitalization Program and Enhanced School-Based Program.She holds a Master Degree in Clinical Psychology from West Virginia University anda Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Dixon is a licensed psychologist who has worked with children and adolescents for over 25 years.As a direct care therapist, she has provided individual and group counseling, family therapy, social skills training in both in-patient and outpatient settings to abused and neglected children.She is well versed in treating children with the types of issues facing Pace students, including Attention Deficit Disorders, depression, anxiety, learning and behavioral problems.As an Administrator, Dr. Dixon has directed programs for Alternative Program Associates and Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic.
In addition to her considerable professional skills and experience, Dr. Dixon serves on the Board of Directors of the Martha Fund. For the past 11 years, the Martha Fund has organized the Martha Run 10K, which raises money to build community playgrounds.
