Extended School Year Program

Now available to students from any school in Allegheny and surrounding counties.

Pace School offers a unique alternative to traditional ESY programming for students with emotional disturbance and autism through partnership with Gateway to the Arts.Using art as a context for learning, students are introduced to a wide variety of artistic opportunities using hands-on creative processes to build social and emotional skills.Through music, art, and drama, students experience new opportunities for collaboration and expression.Academic and behavioral goals are individualized to each student to maintain progress on all goals and objectives-returning to school ready to learn.

The Arts program is tailored to meet the unique academic and social skill needs of each student and assists children in developing improved socialization, communication skills, and self-regulation in the classroom setting.According to each child's ESY plan, academic instruction in reading and language arts, math, and social skills will be conducted.

Special Education Services Provided: Functional Behavioral Assessments are available on request. Partial hospitalization program (PHP) will be provided only for students previously enrolled at Pace School.

Age Range:6-12 years old.
Program Schedule:   July 5-August 5, 2010, Monday-Thursday,
                                        9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Additional Information: Pre-enrollment is required by parent, guardian or school district.This provider is willing to implement an IEP developed in another program.
