Substitute Information

The following positions are available for day to day substituting:

  • Classroom Teacher
  • Paraprofessional

To qualify for a long-term substitute teaching position, you must hold a valid Pennsylvania special education teaching certificate. Those that hold a teaching certificate in another area can substitute as a classroom teacher up to 15 days and/or as a paraprofessional.

Check your current certification application status and Act 48 hours at the Teacher Information Managment System (TIMS) through the Pennsylvania Department of Education site, https://www.education.pa.gov/Educators/Certification/Application/Pages/default.aspx
